Celebrate in Gatlinburg November 12

Old Man Winter is heading to town and here at the Mountain House Inn, we are celebrating!  Join us this month for the 25th Annual Smoky Mountain Winterfest Celebration taking place throughout Sevier County. It all begins November 10th in Sevierville, November 11th in Pigeon Forge and does not stop until November 12th in Gatlinburg. November 10:  Sevierville
Sevierville will set the wintry mood with the “Music, Lights & Magic” Winterfest located at 110 Gary Wade Blvd. in Sevierville. The whole neighborhood comes out for this annual event so arrive early for parking because this free event has been known to bring over 7,000 winterfest enthusiast. Young and young at heart will get to enjoy inflatable bounce activities and carnival games, others will enjoy a moment with friends and family to enjoy live entertainment. Even Santa and area mascots don’t miss this event and no one will go hungry because local businesses have planned to not miss this event either. Don’t miss the possible fireworks, and when the lights go on be sure to have your 3D glass (available for purchase for $1) to enjoy the full effect of the light display.

November 11:  Pigeon Forge
Pigeon Forge honors Veterans everywhere on Veterans Day at the 4th Annual Salute to Veterans Parade, beginning 4:30 p.m. November 11th.  The parade will kick off near light #10 and travel the Parkway to Patriot Park, light #7.  Once the parade ends the festivities begin. Pigeon Forge has invited Santa to the parade and have planned live entertainment, food and a kids area to celebrate Pigeon Forge Winterfest. Once the sun goes the down the lights display goes on, and you can take advantage of the free rides available for the Trolley Ride of Lights tour.  Pack a blanket, enjoy the company and make some memories!

November 12:  Gatlinburg
The streets of Gatlinburg fill on November 12 for the Annual Winter Magic Chili Cook Off, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m, and your stay at Mountain House Motor Inn has you within walking distance to all the fun. So convenient to downtown, you can leave your car and enjoy the festival. Attending the Winter Magic Festival is free but for $10 you can purchase tickets for unlimited chili tasting. If you’re feeling competitive and hungry this is the event for you, bring your favorite spoon and sign up for the hot chili eating contest. Live entertainment will be provided by Emi Sunshine and Sonia Leigh who will perform on the Bush Brother’s Stage. Sonia is a rising star in the Nashville music scene with her female-attitude, modern country sound. Turning on promptly at dusk, Gatlinburg won’t disappoint with their Winter light display.
