The Pancake Pantry for Breakfast and Lunch

If you’ve not already eaten a fluffy stack of pancakes at the Pancake Pantry, then you’ve surely heard about this famous family-owned restaurant in Gatlinburg.  It’s a “must” place to eat for most visitors and locals, too.  On any given day—during any time of the year—you’re likely see a line of patrons outside waiting “patiently” to get in!

We can tell you that it is worth the wait, and also worth paying in cash.  (The Pancake Pantry doesn’t accept any other form of payment.)  Open 7 days a week and serving breakfast and lunch, there’s something really special being served up just for you.

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, so we recommend that you don’t leave it to just anyone to prepare.  When you can choose from 24 varieties of light and tender Old Fashioned Buttermilk pancakes, there is nowhere else to consider.  If you love your pancakes with ‘pigs’, strawberries, coconut, chocolate chips, compote… and the list goes on… you’ll find them here.  With REAL whipped cream too!  There are also Whole Wheat pancakes, freshly made waffles with fruit and nut toppings, omelets, and all the breakfast sides including eggs, sizzling ham or crispy bacon, and fried hash browns.

You are on vacation and enjoying your room at Mountain House Inn, so go ahead and have a relaxing, sleep late day because there is no fear of missing breakfast at the Pancake Pantry.  You may order from the breakfast menu all day long, and lunch items beginning at 11:30 a.m.

The lunch menu is equally as impressive with hearty 6 oz. burgers, gourmet sandwiches fit for an aristocrat, homemade soups and fresh garden salads.  There are specialty breads, tender sliced meats, homemade sauces and a variety of cheeses that are meld into unique, flavorful treats.  Kids have their own menu too, that offers meals starting at only $3.40.

Start your day with a 5-minute walk from Mountain House Inn to the Pancake Pantry, enjoy a great meal, and then shop to your heart’s content right next door at the Village Shops.
